About the speakers:
Herbert Hoekstra has been developing websites and creating graphic designs for over 25 years, and has worked with the WordPress.org CMS for over 15 years, building and designing websites. He started out as a graphic designer, and when the internet was growing he shifted his focus on webdesign and web applications.
Currently, he primarily develops websites and custom functionality (WordPress plugins) for (small) businesses and NGOs. He also advises clients on security issues to keep their WordPress websites as safe as possible.
The websites he designs are functional and clean with a focus on usability: fast, easy to use, with a clear navigation structure.
Silvia Schulz has been in the localization industry for 16 years. She started out as an English-to-German technical translator, but found her true calling in SEO and web content. She loves helping small and medium-sized companies with their German websites – optimizing their content for search engines to increase traffic and conversions. Lately, she gives presentations and workshops to help demystify SEO and make it accessible to everyone.
