Powerful Professional Writing

As a member of SENSE, you know bad professional writing when you see it. Documents that don’t make sense. Reports that bore you to tears. Brochures that make you want to run and hide. But I bet you also know good professional writing when you see it. A PowerPoint presentation that is clear and persuasive. A brochure that sparkles. An email that you don’t have to read three times.

When people mention your name, what kind of writing would you like them to talk about?

Maximize the quality of your writing immediately

The Powerful Professional Writing workshop teaches you how to maximize the quality of your professional writing immediately, from emails to 300 page reports and everything in between. It is designed for anybody who uses writing skills in their daily work – in SENSE this means copywriters, editors and even translators who wonder at the structure and word choice that their clients are using.

Work with an experienced trainer and your own documents

The workshop is run by an experienced copywriter and trainer, and is delivered through a combination of teaching, exercises and personal coaching. It uses a highly structured approach that also happens to be a fun and active experience. Best of all, participants are encouraged to bring their own documents – they can improve their own work right away.

The Powerful Professional Writing Workshop

If you currently struggle with writing, you’ll walk away with more confidence. If you like writing, you’ll maximize your abilities. And you’ll definitely have fun doing it.

About Stephen Johnson

Who am I?

I am a freelance copywriter and business English trainer, working for a variety of large, international companies and institutions.

Where have I worked and what have I done?

After years as a Bid Writer and Business English Trainer at KPN Corporate Accounts, I moved to A.T. Kearney (an international strategy consultant company) serving their Benelux offices. There, I worked as a Communications Specialist and trainer.

My training experience

I designed and delivered Business English Training for five years at KPN. During my time at A.T. Kearney, I designed and delivered logical business writing courses for the local unit. I then became an integral part of a design and delivery team for a business writing course that is now mandatory for all A.T. Kearney consultants.

What I bring to training courses

I deliver over 35 business writing courses a year across Europe, bringing over 10 years of daily business writing expertise to each workshop. I am also a published fiction writer, which enables me to teach aspects of effective writing skills that other business courses miss. This combination is a highly effective way of increasing participants’ writing and editing skills while simultaneously enhancing confidence in their own abilities. My coaching style is focused but fun, ensuring that participants are able to grasp new concepts quickly and easily, and then apply them to their own work immediately.
